CFRSOA Benevolence Fund

It is hereby proposed that the Central Florida Ridge Soccer Officials Association initiate and maintain a help fund to be called the CFRSOA Benevolence Fund (hereafter called the Fund).
Said fund to be funded by the following methods:

  1. A voluntary yearly donation by the members, the equivalent of one game fee ( For example: $50), to be withheld from their first paycheck or given in the form of a check.
  2. Any other donations, grants or monies designated for such purpose.
  3. A transfer of 10% ( from the current season earning ) of the Associations carryover at the end of the season.
  4. If or when the Fund’s assets exceed $5000.00, up to 50% of the monies may be placed into short term investments.

Uses of the Fund monies:
Monies from the Fund will be prioritized as follows:

  1. To help active members of the Association in time of need.
  2. To help former members of the Association in time of need.
  3. To help a member of the Referee community in time of need.
  4. May be used fund a scholarship for a member or member’s child if or when the Fund exceeds $3000.00. A maximum of 15% of the Fund’s monies over $3000.00 may be used for this purpose.

Monies from the Fund may be disbursed as follows:

  1. After receiving a recommendation from the Fund contacts, amounts of less than $101 maybe disbursed by the approval of the Executive Board with the total yearly disbursements not to exceed 25% of the Fund’s value – exclusive of any scholarship award.
    1. Any recommendations from the executive board to disburse amounts of $101 or more must be approved by the membership.
    2. This is a “living” document and may be amended by the membership.  It will take a Yes vote of 60% of the total membership to enact a change.

A special contact group (Fund Contacts) consisting of 2-3 people shall be selected yearly by the membership.  All requests shall be made through the Fund Contacts.  Note: only one of the Fund Contacts need be contacted.  ALL COMMUNICATIONS WITH THIS COMMITTEE SHALL BE PRIVILIDGED AND KEPT CONFIDENTIAL.  The Fund Contacts shall make recommendations to the executive board and provide details to the board (as instructed by the requester) of the situation.
